993 transmission drop for clutch repair.

Hey I’m getting ready to drop my trans only in my 95 c2 993 to replace the flywheel and clutch assembly. I got all new parts including slave , full clutch kit , luk flywheel, fork, fork shaft and new bearings, bolts, rms, and speed sensor.

*Any advice for installing the fork shaft ? Should I leave the bearing caps on the shaft or mount the one on the trans prior to mating it?

I’m sure I’ll have more questions when I start the drop.
Thanks !

Everything will go fine until you have to deal with the shaft removal, not to mention the reinstall. Just take the engine and trans out together.

Agree with John. Tranny only will not save you time or effort in the end. That’s not true until the water cooled cars.

Not to highjack, but is the same true for a 993 motor only drop?

I dropped the transmission today no issues.
Dmf flywheel was shot .

Hey how do you guys install the clutch fork shaft ?

Do you put the bushing cup and needle bearings in the bell housing first. Or mount in one go by pushing the shaft and bearing cap assemblys all together?
Thanks so much

You get the update kit with the brass bearings, removing the needle bearings.
