Wings Air-Cooled Specialties Adjustable Gas Pedal - 'The Third Foot'
I was in the market for an adjustable gas pedal for my 964 - and found one that works for all 911's (G-bodies included) up to the 996. l wanted to take care of the awkward pedal spacing in the pedal box. Anyone who has driven one of these cars, knows about the height difference between the gas pedal and the brake. It makes heel-and-toe downshifting difficult at best; impossible, depending on your ankle mobility. What drew me to Wings Air-Cooled Specialties 'The Third Foot' pedal is it is completely reversible - no need to drill into your gas pedal or modify the pedal box in any way. I purchased one from their site - about $250.00 all in, and it shipped quickly. I received the shipment, opened the box, and received a handwritten note from the owner as well. The little things go a long way.
Wings Air-Cooled Specialties has been around for some time - but I believe it went dormant. The product patents were purchased, and the 'Third Foot' pedal is now back in production, according to Nick (their proprietor). All I can say is, I am impressed. The installation was extremely easy, literally taking 5 minutes, and two tools. Basically, the 'Third Foot' pedal slides over the gas pedal, and camps around it using an arm. Remove the clamping arm, install on pedal, re-install clamping arm, tighten. Adjust height (top, and lower two Phillips bolts) to preference for heel-toe style. Installation could not be simpler, and the pedal feels solid - it's made of aluminum, and there is not 'slack' or dead zone once you adjust it to suit. It's made heel-toe shifting a breeze, and I've experienced zero rev-hangs or issues with it since installation. I heavily recommend it if you're looking for an easy-to-install, mad-in-the-USA, reversible, adjustable gas pedal. I used to have one of these in my daily driver. Well made and worked as it should. However, coming home one evening, wearing my "office" shoes, braking on the exit ramp, my braking foot eventually caught the throttle and I didn't feel it. No harm. no foul, but I had to take it off.
Not the pedal's fault; just a word of caution. |

nice! i had one of those years ago in my spec911 and loved it (small feet)......
they became a hot item after they were discontinued so i would anticipate sales will be brisk. i like the black too. the old aluminum finish ones were not objectionable, but the black is cool.

Hey Pelican! Just wanted to bump this up.. I now have pedals available for '75 and earlier cars with the skinnier and thinner pedals.
Go fast, take chances! Nick

BUT; With all due respect;
Club racing scrutineers see this device as a way to cheat a dyno test.

Hey guys!
Have a bunch of these in black that came in blemished. I am selling them $50 off and I will ship for free ($199 to your door). Blemishes are light and you won't see them once they are installed, but you will when you take them out of the box. Some pictures of examples below. If you're interested PM me! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Still have a few of these for '76-'04 cars. Lots for '75 and older cars (& 914's)

Recent re-stock, all designs in stock (if you have a manual Porsche, we have a pedal that fits it).
Quick bump- thanks, Pelican!

It looks like you're hitting the pedal when you hit the brakes, even before down-shifting. You sure this doesn't make the pedal too big?

Thanks David- I may be very close to making contact, or making slight contact, but I am turning the inside of my right foot so as to apply pressure only to the brake and make sure I am not causing the car to rev until I blip.

The pedal area on these cars is quite restricted as is, I personally cannot see the benefit of fitting something like this that may potentially cause more issues than its worth, just my ramblings.
Ant.

I've been using one for a decade, they are great for heel/toe shifts and a non issue for everything else

What's the purpose of the tab on lower left of pedal? I couldn't see in the video if that tab is where the blip is applied.
