Hello,
I bought a 69' 911T without a drivetrain installed. After installing new engine mounts I tried to mock up an oem engine cradle and it's about a half inch too short. I measured the distance between the two holes on the cradle to be about 29.5" from center to center, while the engine mounts are almost 30"when properly installed. Even with the mounts unbolted there isn't enough play in the larger holes to make up the distance so slotting the smaller holes in the mounts probably isn't an option. Is welding on a new engine mount corner repair panel the best course of action here? Or should I try another engine cradle? I saw a thread saying Rennline one was a bit too long for some people? https://photos.app.goo.gl/p262ypEYRYGvf7xw9 Thank you, Arthur Last edited by Boeleni; 08-23-2025 at 07:13 PM.. It might be worth considering putting your car on a Celette jig to see where the discrepancy lies.

Rough measurement on my car gives me 75cm CC between the main engine mount bolts, which would indicate your mounts are off

Measure a different car to see where the discrepancy is. Car or engine bar.

You can determine what’s wrong with the car but it might be easier/faster/cheaper to cut, extend and weld the ends of the mount. You can beef up the ends at the same time.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I confirmed the bar is the correct length, and later found where the right motor mount had shifted, probably from a rear end collision. Looks like a job for the body shop.
