Floor below pedals
I was quoted 3800 to have this sheet metal replaced by a body shop. It sounds high to me or am I wrong?

No way I would replace that whole piece for a hole below the pedals. If you buy that piece, just cut out the least amount for the repair. Did that a while ago. Or just fab it from 18ga sheet metal.

I Strongly agree with John. Patch panels/pieces are often a great way to go. Going this way saved me a lot of money and hassle. A good shop can fabricate even complex patch panels.
I just replaced a section of the rear longitudinal in my engine bay. Restoration Design in Canada provided a salvage rear corner from a donor car (got it just before the tariffs), and shipping was reasonable. They have some good quality used sheet metal as well as new. Would love to hear from others about sources for Porsche salvage sheet metal. The longitudinal & engine support I harvested from the donor left rear corner: ![]() Donor car piece from salvage yard: ![]() Donor pieces installed in my car: ![]()

Agree with the above, if you only need a hole replaced in the pedal area, a small one, have a patch panel made.
That said there is a lot going on in and around that panel, so replacing it entirely....and properly with spot welding etc.....could easily be $3,800. Also, removing that whole panel could show you other issues that are hiding, so be prepared for some "while you're in there."
