Hamburg Techni tensioners?
Does anyone have any direct experience using the Hamburg Technic Carrera style chain tensioners?

Hamburg Technique is generally known for low quality parts in the Mercedes and BMW worlds. For something like a tensioner, there's no reason to not get the absolute best quality part, price be damned.

I wouldn’t put Chinese tensioners in a motor, especially a customers AL.

Even as a frugal DIYer, I agree with Shaun about not using Chinese parts in my engine. Too much risk of poor quality Chinese stuff (I know, that's redundant) causing much bigger $$$$ problems.

I have no experience with these tensioners or any Hamburg Technic part (1st i've heard of them) and I noticed that they are sold on Pelican Parts website. So, I didn't know where they are manufactured or what the quality is........and I'm still looking for any info based on actual, direct experience ......
I appreciate the comments and opinions.....and I think that I have a pretty good understanding of the risk of using inferior parts.....and that is why I'm asking for feedback based on actual experience...... the last pair of OEM tensioners I bought were crap. So, anyone out there with real experience with these....good or bad?

Al, there's a real chance that there's no experience meaning no one has rolled the dice yet. If a shop used them and they failed, we would never know. If a DIY'er used them, they may work for a week, a month, a year. Long term, real world, real use (sporting revs) testing may never be available. Or just one person reports positively after 1 year...? Those are my thoughts.

Can the old Porsche tensioners be rebuilt?
New sealing rings, maybe the shaft? Seems like a heck of a more reliable option.

If someone built it, someone else can rebuild it. It might not be easy, but these are not complicated devices.
