No, but I am a user and a big fan of their Kewl Vent product.
http://www.griffiths.com/porsche/ac/porsac911.htm#Kuehlvent I would have to say that 33 degree vent temps are a big no no though. Since your evaporator would have to be well below freezing to pull this off an iced up evap would be sure to result from such performance. Its nice to know their system can pull this off assuming it can do so in 90+ ambient temps, but the rule of thumb is that anything less than 38 degrees at the vents are an indicator that your cut out switch or expansion valve are not working correctly. |

All it takes is enough condensing capacity; either more condenser area, more air moving over the area and a clean condenser. That and the right fill amount of refrigerant. It ain't magic, it's heat transfer and thermodynamics. Cheers, Jim

Jim is exactly right. If I remember the artical correctly, the amount of refrigerant was critical to getting that low an outlet temp.

They get 39 degrees at the high fan setting. I have a similar set-up on my car, only with an underbelly condenser instead of the rear-wheelwell one, and I get 37 degrees on the same fan setting in the same ambient.

It should be pointed out, my AC system was engineered by Pelicanite Tyson "The Ice Man" Schmidt, of TRE Motorsports.
Come to think of it, he did all the rest of the car, as well. ![]()

Thanks Jack. But I wasn't fishing, just playing into that joke over the radio during the Open Track Challenge this year. Remember?
Anyhoo, I agree with the charge of R134a being critical. I just completed an underbelly install and complete A/C system overhaul and compressor upgrade on a fellow Pelicanite's 911SC. After completion, I drove the car next door to have it evac'd and charged. Afterward, it was disappointing. Seems the A/C guy next door undercharged it due to worry about killing the compressor. He doesn't realize that we have the condensor area of the Gods. On Monday I'm taking it back to him to add a little more R134a to get things to "Jack Olsenian 37 deg temp" levels, and hopefully I can reeducate him on the new set-up's requirements. ![]()

The price is in the new Excellence mag. $2400+/-. I live in Fl also and would love to bring the temp down to something livable. 81sc A/C not much use here.
