In Europe , only VERY late versions of 964 took the 993 style airbag dash , so even a uk 1993 would have the vertical glovebox with the opener as far away as possible lol:D
That the glovebox was relocated for the airbag not for a "cleaner dash" makes more sense, form follows function.
