Is Modena a type of Ferrari?

I was trucking along yesterday in my caravan (family and all) and I pulled up behind a (looked brand new to me) Ferrari. Black and sweet sounding. The license plate said Modena. Curious what that means. Anyways the guy went to take a right and while passing I looked in the window. It was the drummer of Aerosmith. I saw him in Hingham, Ma. I think a few of them live in Marshfield. I think it was last year or so, Joe Perry's Ferrari burnt up at a gas station in my hometown of Scituate. Anyways, probably not that cool for you west coast LA types but for this East Coaster, it was pretty cool.

Have a good day.

Modena Italy is the factory location....or was...I'm not sure if the newest factory is still there.

Argeo..

Modena is the region in Italy where the city of Maranello (Ferrari original factory is located).

Unless the car was a Ferrari 360 Modena of course.

Yes, it is. My neighbor just bought a very nice red 360 Modena cab.

We had a little friendly street race this AM, Porsch is still faster

Modena is a small city in Emilia Romagna N. Italy. Maranello is a town that comes under Modena. It has grown a lot because of the Ferrari factory and presence but still too small to be called a city IMO.

Yeah... I got some car magazine last year. Joey Kramer owns a Ferarri and a Porsche. He was on the cover of the magazine and they did an entire article on him and just those 2 cars.

Modena is a city, as has been related. It boasts a wonderful Romanesque cathedral, and produces the world's best balsamic vinegar, and is a mecca for Opera. In addition, it is home to Maserati. Lamborghini and Bugati are near by, as is Zonda. It was the home of Enzo Ferrari. The factory ended up in Maranello because, folowing the war, the Italian government did not want to cluster industry in developed cities. Maranello is a small village about 13 miles West of Modena. Enzo rode his bicycle from Modena to Maranello every day!

Here is a shot of me (in the middle), with a couple of guys I used to work with, waiting for Enzo to pedal by.

Actually, this shot was taken in 1998 right after we toured the Galleria Ferrari. We stopped along the side of the road by the Ferrari test track, waited for a while, and then out came Schumacher running the new F-1 car in its final testing before crating it up and shipping it off to Australia for the first race of the season. That day Michael set a new fast lap record for the Ferrari test track.

BTW - The DeTomaso Automobili plant is also in Modena, along with all of the other big names listed above.

Really? Or was it your right foot that's faster?! I've found that Ferrari drivers are characteristically hesitant to really push their cars. We, on the other hand...

Seriously, the Modena is one fast mofo mobile.

Ferrari used to drive around in a Fiat 131 Mirafiori at one stage of his life which gave rise to the quip that even Ferrari can't afford a Ferrari

Who knows?

We've been doing imprompto roll ons for yrs. last year he had a Viper, my 3.6 was no match.

This year, a 3.8RS in a light chassis is also a seriously fast car &#133
