Engine drop questions?

1. What is suppose to happen (if at all) with the two MFI hard "steel" fuel lines that enter the engine compartment?

3. What are the wires at the CD box need disconnecting?

4. Where is the "wire harness" and then what are the "connectors" right behind the oil pressure switch.

5. Is the engine tin suppose to drop with the engine, or does any of this need to be removed??

Hi,

I didn't drop my engine in my 911E myself, but may be able to help. And actually I'm about to drop the engine again and do some wiring, so if you get your motor out pictures of behind the engine would be most helpful to me.

1. The steel lines stay where they are, but you need to disconnect the supply and return lines.

2. I would say that wires going from the console to the motor needs to be disconnected. Take pictures of the connections before disconnecting.

3. There are 6 pin connectors behind the motor that you may not be able to see.

4. I believe the engine tin drops with motor but check that.

5. You'll have to disconnect oil lines and shift linkage too. And some breather hoses.

Again I'd be interested in getting some pictures of your engine bay pre-and post- drop. I'm working on a swap in my 69 911e and I'm having some trouble with IDing some of the wires. I can send you some pictures of the fuel line area and other parts

Chuck

Here is a picture of the engine bay of my 69 911E. I've circled the supply and return lines in red. You'll notice a couple of parts out of place (fuel filter/accumulator/6pin CD box) as these were part of the conversion. But basically when the motor was removed these lines were disconnected at these points.
