bad 2.7 RS.....

Hi all
I finally found my 2.7 RS MFI
This is the baddest Porsche experience i had : some explications :

The engine is impossible to use : no smoothness and power under 3000rpm ,this is because of the lack of care( i mean he didn't take care about it) of the seller.

It runs hard but not regularly from 4000 to 7000 (much too rich , the rear bumper is black and dirty....)

Idle is correct,
here are a few questions : is the injection pump reliable ? does it runs well with modern fuels ?
I feel there's no big problem on that engine but i need your opinion

a good start would be to replace spark plugs, fuel filters, control firing point,

valve seats, pistons/cylinders are new (8000kms), heads have been machined, by the way it doesn't run good

any ideas ?

i'm sure Porsche designed that engine to run well from 1500 to 7000 (because of the MFI)
may you confirm ?

best regards
Philippe

The only 2.7 MFI (RS) engine I've ever sampled was smooth, yet urgent and pulled like crazy to it's rev-limiter. It made good power all through the rev range.

There should be no burping or stuttering and it should rev like crazy.

MFI space-cam might be worn-down and needs to be resurfaced.
