valence source

im interested in putting another valence on the front of my sc to accomidate cooling intake ports. i have found some pretty fair priced ducts from a company called IO PORT racing supply, i do not however want to cut the stock valence. is there a replica or something not too RS looking that i might be able to find? our host has nothing ive been able locate on the site.

GT-racing and there are several other vendors. If you want stock looking why don't you get a stock valence from one of the used Porsche parts yards and cut it up and save your stock valence?

I've got a spare valence for an SC that I'll send you for the price of shipping.

I did what Steve suggested.

The idea was to make something that an oil cooler would fit behind. I got two used valences, one with fog light holes, one without and cut 'em up to make a custom valence.

I moved the Carrera valence forward to the edge of the bumper and welded on longer ends from the older part. Then cut a hole for the cooler and mounted BSR ducts (from I/O Port) behind the fog light openings.

I also had to piece together a longer rubber lip spoiler from two used ones.

It wasn't a hard job, just took a while since I was making it up as I went along.

This way, I was able to retain as stock a look as possible and have the room for the cooler (just barely enough).

If all you want is brake ducts, just get the used Carrera piece and use the BSR ducts. I put a double duct on the passenger side to get a bit more air to the fender oil cooler. Not much room in there, so you'll have to trim the inboard duct and put the brake hose on the outboard one.

I've since switched to a RUF style f/g valence after my deer strike... plenty of room behind there now.

Affirmative.

I miss it... a little. I'm getting used to the Ruf style though. I'm surprised the f/g is holding up so well, even at autobahn speeds.

My paint guy did a super job prepping and finishing it (as well as the rest of the front end after the deer strike). He said it was one of the nicest f/g pieces he's worked with (I got it from BW).

Hope you get that thing on and start enjoying it.

It will happen.. I take my home garage paint jobs seriously.. and I know fiberglass work from doing boats.. the pic is an old paint job before I had to do some fender rust work.. your valence will be perfect when it's over..........Ron
