20 beers, 2 days & I still dont know how to put my cluster back together

I rebuilt my pedal cluster on my 71 911 and Im going absolutley nuts trying to figure out the clutch spring and the clutch pedal. All the pics I look at shows the spring tight on the left side and the pedal against the new brass bushing on the right side....just like I remember it...My situation is like the clutch piece that goes throught the entire deal grew about 1/2 inch!!! Maybe Im losing it..again but any help or ideas would be great. Im gonna borrow a digital camera and repost as soon as i can. Thanks in advance!!!!! Bruce

I will speculate you have left out the spacer bushing labeled as item 41 in the above figure. Jim

Maybe the problem is the "20 beers".

Please note the "excellent pic/layout" is courtesy of our host; it comes from the parts diagrams included on this site. Jim

Bruce,

The Vol2 No2 issue of 9, The DIY Porsche Magazine features a great photo step-by-step install of the pedal cluster.

If you want I can send you that issue at no charge if you e-mail me your mailing address.
