Doug - Thanks for the warm welcome. I did reply to your PM. Just wonder why you did not receive it ???

Jim, I will definitely let you know my first engine drop. I will take any help that anyone will offer. :p
I'm lucky or what ? just live few yards across from Astore's Garage and Grill. :D See you soon ... |
Kevin,
Welcome to the board. Start making your mod list. By the way, nice wheels. |
OK, OK. . .the car DOES NOT leak like an old UBoat! After "spirited" driving, it will drop one or two drops, but that's just to remind us of it's true nature. Kevin, you will be driving this car for a long time before it's ready for an engine drop (sorry Richard, Jim, et al). Just between the two of us (and the myriad voyeurs reading this), you'll soon be able to wax a lot of them! As I told you on the phone, this car has extraordinary acceleration (much like my race car; the power-to-weight is just about right) and will see you through many, many years of service. Just remember, if a 911 engine isn't leaking, there's seriously something (soon to be) amiss! Nah, they just like to mark their territory.

Don - now i understand why a cardboard box is a must have item for P owner, to put under the car for a drop or two of oil. May be someone should invent some kind of oil diaper to make all P owner's wifes happy and makes millions.
Hope that I can see you after my vacation and experience what Larry (previous owner of my car) went thru with your test drive http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/beerchug.gif |
Ted - thanks, the first item on my mod list is the roll bar so I can take DE and join many of you at Summit Point. hope to see you again soon in some P events

Kevin: Go to Kragen/AutoZone/etc and pick up a drip pan. I have one under each of my Porsches, and they really pay for themselves. A $12.00 investment (for the large size) really makes for a happy domestic relationship. . .

Congratulations, Kevin. Nice car. Glad you finally found a decent example of what you've been looking for.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Breaking news:
Finally after many phone calls and false promises from the auto transport company, my car is loaded on a truck at midnite yesterday. And another promise that my car will be here this coming Sunday. That would be a record for driving 4 days coast to coast. Either this 18 wheelers will be going non-stop or doing 100+ miles per hour  . Cross my fingers. Also thanks to the Clarks (previous owner's wife, Lou) who really showed dedication and care of when my car will be picked up, how it will be loaded on a truck and keeping me inform on a daily basis. This is what I call the best post-sale service .http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/angel.gif Will keep you all posted .SmileWavy |
Best wishes on a safe and timely delivery Kevin. I'd add a few days to whatever the shipper said. Four days is pretty agressive, I think. Also, what if they decide to pick up or deliver other cars before yours is delivered. Tell me that's never happened before.
When it arrives, let us know Kevin. I for one am excited for you. :) |
I think I heard Richard say something about contracting a cross-country trip for a trucking company this week
|
Sunday is gone and my car is still not here yet http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/smi10.gif

Kevin, I'm pretty sure others that have shipped from coast to coast waited for 6-7 days. If it's not here by Wednesday, check Marc's garage.
