I seem to have a slight oil leak in the area where the oil tank and S hose meet. I've tightened the clamp to no avail. I'm wondering, if I drain the oil from the tank and sump, will there be any oil left in the S hose? I'm thinking about inspecting it and maybe replacing both the hose and clamp. I just don't want to be surprised when I pull it off.

The S hose sits right near the hot exhaust and tends to need replacement sooner than other hoses. I'd change it.

Thanks Chris. I did buy one along with the associated clamps with the intent to replace just in case.

When you remove the S hose, make sure that the surface on the oil cooler is smooth where the hose seals. A small score can lead the oil right out and onto the heat exchanger.
If you find a score or two, polish them out with the finest grit wet/dry sandpaper that you can find.

Thanks for your responses. Everyone's so helpful on this BBS. I guess that's why I'm an addict.
