Was this tail modeled after early carrera style?

That looks like an early Carrera or a smaller version of the IROC tail.

rubber lip not withstanding.

Actually, there was an option for that tail in the early 70s, However the factory one is all rubber. I cant tell by the pic if that one is fiberglass or painted rubber.

That appears to be avariant of the IROC tail

in the late '70s there were 2 normal 911 tails one was f/g w/ a rubber lip and was very similar in appearance to the 930 and 934 tails
This is a factory pic of that tail


The other ws the polyuretane one piece, very similar in appearance, here on my car

Thanks for all the input. I agree it looks like it was designed after an earlier oem tail but isn't a perfect match. Originally I wasn't overly fussy about it but it has since grown on me.
