2.7 Leak Down Issue
Please tell me if this means anything inparticular...
I am thinking about a '75 2.7 liter car. the case has been line bored and shuffle pinned. the guy has reciepts for EVERYTHING. Mahle pistons, Mahle Cylinders, etc... However.... The leak down came back with 1-2-3 all at 5% and 4-5-6 all at 2%. i have never seen anything like that. is the leak on one side of the case all being the same but DIFFERENT from the other side the tell tale sign of some greater / common problem? or am i just paranoid? Please help. Brian |

I could be wrong here, but 4% is still considered newly re-built. Probably nothing to worry about since you don't have anything to compare it too.
How many miles on the re-build??

i agree... i am not so much concerned with the % values as i am the sequence. it just seemed incredibly odd that all three cylinders ere the same on their respective sides. the motor is in a race car that prob has about 90 hours on it or so... (about three seasons)
any ideas? |
