RS carpet
Ok, I want to replace the carpet in my '74 (all of it) and I was looking for a cheap alternative to german ($). Conviently the RS carpet kits are not only cheaper but lighter. The question is are they quality? from whom? and are they complete (minus mats).
Thanks

Search the archives for "RS carpet" under title only.

Here is an incredible website put together by a Pelican member. I believe his user name is Rallyjon.. Hope that's right. I've had this bookmarked waiting to install the kit in my 73. Again, a great site which discusses where he purchased and step by step install instructions.

Cali - does Cali stand for California? Are you in Southern California? If so, call Dave at TRE re. the carpet kit. Tell him dd74 told you to call. You won't be disappointed. I promise.

I know this will upset some of you but I order a RS carpet kit and RS America Door panel from TRE and was not pleased with the service. It took 6 weeks for the stuff to get to me due to the "carpet guy" and the door panels we RS pre 73'. Maybe its because I'm in FL. On the plus side they were easy to get a hold of and I'm sure they would have exchanged the panels if I had asked. No hard feelings just sharing my experience.

I ordered mine off ebay from appbiz and had the RS set in three or four days, the quality looks very good and the install doesn't look too bad.
I'd be doing it this weekend if Maine Forest wasn't this weekend...

Thanks guys
Since it seems that there is no problem with the quality of the carpet I think I will save money and hassle that way.

My '78SC Euro model has nothing beneath the carpets. I just have the floor carpets and beneath is painted steel. Is this normal?
The RS carpet looks sharp. I bet a good sound dampener and the RS carpet set would be functional and clean. |
