JMPRO Targa Top Fit issue

First of all let me say the the quality of this top is very good. Installing it on the existing frame was a snap.
It seems to stick up in the wing area on each side no matter what I do or how I adjust it. I have tried everything I can think of. It does relax some (not much) with the doors open. Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Wow, that is a huge gap. Kind of like open topped driving without an open top.

I have to say that something must not be right.

embs, loosen the front locater pins at each front corner so that they can adjust to the holes in the windshield header. Once they have adjusted to the holes, tighten them back up and check to be sure they are going all the way into the holes. That is why the front corners are not setting down. If you need any more info call me , my number is on the instruction sheet.

I have tried that. These pictures were taken with the front pins removed. The pins have no effect on this issue.

Also, it looks like you have the top too tight in the center section. Did you use the adjusting block as described in the instructions to locate the holes for the two clips front and rear. If you try to pull the center down too much the outer edges will flare up. Also make sure the ends of the rubber trim at the sides are glued down and not stopping the top from seating. Let me know.

I just looked at the picture again and i think the problem is that you did'nt trim enough fiberglass off the side edges to alow the drip rail to seat flat in its original position. The edges of the f/g need to be filed or sanded to fit your drip rails. It seems that as the drip rails get old and used thier contour will change due to bumps and tweeks. The drip rails need to fit close but not so they are held out of position by the f/g.

That was part of the problem. The other part was that the side rails were not quite flush down on the frame. The ST screws felt good and tight but it was because they were tapping through the frame and not fully seated in the fiberglass. It is way better now. I am still "tweaking" and will post updated pics in a while.
