Show me your wheels!...(Please)

I am considering painting my Fuchs white (I have a white 930). The wheels are mint, original, low miles etc, so I am a little concerned about making them less valuable by repainting them. Is this a valid concern? I'm also not sure if I would like the look as well as a set of aftermarket wheels (fikse, bbs etc.) I especially like the real deep dish, low offset wheels.

So, help me out and give me some ideas! TIA

buy a beat up set and paint those. If you like them, sell yours. If no, sell the painted ones.

I've allways liked white wheels on white cars, but then again I still like music from the '80s too.

Or perhaps play with a picture of your car in Photoshop and see what it would look like with white wheels - just another thought...

PS - you have a PM

I tried the color route.
I had the rims polished and anodized.
The finish looked great, the choice of colors debatable naturally.

Problem after a year of racing the rim centers have faded from the brake heat.

So I've taken them apart and plan to powder coat the centers this time.
Black and maybe one set a dark gray if something interests me.

Yeah rims can make a car but the color of the rims can be changed easily.
Have fun you can always go back to traditional black.

Returning to something like this.

Someone else as brave as me.

Not a 930 but here you go... Mine are Simmons F-Series 3-piece wheels. They will make the center white (or other colors) if you like. I'm like Chuck, I like white wheels on white cars.

Call Jeff Curran at Group-A-Wheels and he can tell you all about Simmons wheels and size fitment (I know you can fit at least 275 on rear but think you can go bigger) and pricing 480-813-4776. He can also supply tires.

Tell him I sent you and he will give you (or other Pelicans) a good deal.

JP, WOW! Thanks, a white 930 no less! I like the car both ways. Obviously, painting the Fuchs would be a much less expensive option. What did you do with your white painted Fuchs? And, why did you change from the white wheels?

I was having traction issues with the stock sized 245s on the rear, and didn't feel safe fitting anything larger on the stock 9" rims. Plus, I have a great place to use the 16x9s, my '72 (after it gets RS flares). They'll have to be repainted, of course.

Lots of people like the way my auto-x wheels look.

They are just an old beat up set of C2 cup wheels that I picked up on e-bay and I painted myself.
