Any value to old Boge inserts?

I just replaced the OEM Boge inserts in my 87 Carrera with new Bilsteins. Is there any value to the old inserts and associated hardware? The shocks were in good working order (although now all the oil had spilled out, but I assume that could be replaced).

They might make interesting paperweights once you clean the oil up!

Well I hate to toss them - a bad habit of mine - but if they have no use to anyone then I guess I should go against my normal instincts. I was surprised at how much more substantial the new Bilsteins are in comparison.

What is the deal with those things anyway - was oil injected into them after install and then the top nut sealed them?
