911, 2.2S AND 2.4T what can I do?
I have two engines 911, one is 2.2S and 2.4T
are there any parts that I can exchange between them to get more HP? |
Put the pistons, cylinders, and cams from the 2.2S into the 2.4T. Make sure the pistons measure out to within specifications though. My experience after looking at many many early pistons is that they have not survived 3 decades of use.

2.2 "S" heads were the same as 2.4 "S" heads ... much larger ports than the "T" heads, so they need to go on the 2.4 as well, along with the MFI throttle bodies and stacks that matched the "S" port size! If the 2.2 engine is running well with no richness issues, I would recommend using that MFI injection pump as well! Ignition timing would have to be retarded a bit to around 30° - 32° BTDC at 6000 rpm to handle/deal with today's 'premium' gas. The resulting compression on this engine will likely be ABOVE 10.0:1, so fuel quality will ALWAYS BE A CRITCAL ISSUE!

thanks Dave and Warren for your interest.
( I´m using weber 40mm) how much HP would I get from that set up. |
190 HP +/-

Doesn't the T have an unbalanced crank? I'd address that before hotrodding it.
|
The 2.4T crank is counterweighted, the 2.0 and 2.2 T crank is not counterweighted
