calipers and brake upgrade
I have a 66' 911 that is upgraded w/ bilstein 3 1/2" struts, and I have purchased the vented rotors for front and rear. I will be using the car for racing in HSR or similar and wondering what calipers I should use.
I have heard the 911S aluminum calipers are not great for racing, let me know what you think, and if you have any calipers for sale. thx, paul paul.joyaux@ubs.com |

As long as you have the late struts w/ 3.5" mounts then you are only limited by your class rules. The S caliper on standard 282.5x20mm rotor is good, better is the '84-89 Carrera rotor on 282.5x24mm rotor.
Be sure to use a 19.05mm master cylinder. You will also want to use a '70s style 911 M rear caliper and 290x20 vented rotor. I am not that familiar w/ the really early cars so am not 100% sure what you have stock

The S calipers are said to flex. They are nice and light tho.
Pay attention to air flow ... |
