2.4 to 3.0 -> Need Tech Help

Hi all,

Next week I'll be attempting to install a 3 liter motor into my 1972 T, and I just need a bit of guidance. I should be receiving a CD box, fuel pump and engine wiring harness. Any tips anyone can give me about wiring the car, or anything else I need to know would be greatly appreciated. It's not only my first 3.0 engine swap, it's the first time I'll be installing *any* Porsche engine.

mto

The best way to do this would be to post pictures of any areas you need help with. Like the connector, or fuel lines etc. That way we could pinpoint areas for you. Should be an easy swap though.

Ok, that sounds like a plan. Thanks.

As a starter, make sure you keep the oil line that connects on the driver's side of the engine and runs along the engine/tranny joint as the 3.0 used a different line that will interfere with your '72 (and much better) heat exchanger/muffler set up.

IMHO, and if you haven't already done so, pull the sound pad out and paint the area the color of your choice.

That's all for now . . . keep us posted.

I've already painted the engine compartment with Hammerite Rust paint. It looks killer, and is a textured grey gloss hardshell finish.

I'll have the laptop right next to me for the install, so you'll be hearing from me.
