Southern California 911 Photo Spot
(We'll see how long the moderators let this stay here.
![]() Do any of you Los Angeles guys know of a good place on Mulholland Drive (or a road like it) to photograph a 911? I'm looking for something that either has a nice view of the city, or just captures a little bit of the flavor of Mulholland.

I see only the perfect excuse to drive up and down Mulholland as many times as it takes to decide where

I know a really good spot in Sherman Oaks at the top of Hayvenhurst (south of Ventura Blvd.) where you can see the whole valley, but it would be impossible for me to explain to you where exactly it is.......but PM me if you're interested and I'll give you directions as best as I can.

I would think that the patio at Heff's place would be a prime location. Make sure the sprinklers are on.

The top of Stunt Road / Saddle Peak is one of my favorites. You can see almost 360° from there, the SF and Conejo valleys on one side and the Pacific on the other.
There are also some killer photo spots off Piuma Road and Mullholland, a tad further West. The peak above the Rock Store is also nice. I think if you could park in the turnout and take a pic from up the hill across the road, you could potentially get some of the twisties and scenery in the frame. I haven't tried that yet though.

That scene from the Springsteen video "Im On Fire" would be perfect...whereever that is. Park the car on the edge of the road and take shots with the city in the background.

There's this place, where there's a bench that's like 6ft high, that is basically the box seat to the LA basin...
But see Amir's post for directions... [edit] one of my more usless contributions to this board I think...

Near the tunnels on Las Virgines or is it Malibu Canyon is pretty spectacular.
Chris's pictures of his Gemini Targa on Mullholland were always a favorite of mine.

This is my favorite place to go. Azusa canyon road.http://www.geocities.com/dvl999/page44.html
Though I would prefer Glendora Mtn. Road because it is paved better, but it's been closed down for months now. Fire I think. -Gus. |

there are a couple of spots on Kanaan Dume as you get closer to PCH where you overlook the hills and have the entire ocean vista. That says CA more to me than the SF valley...

Try a valley shot between Laurel and Coldwater. It's fitting for BB2 since it was the "racing circuit"
