Bump...

I was looking into this for my car, and did a search. Although I did not saw any of the articles, I bet you can find them if you run a search on the net. I recall an article specific to the Autometer light. Others were simple and hooked onto the coil terminal with a selectable shift point. Seems modern electronics makes these very simple.
Good luck. |
Do the instructions say something like "hook the autometer signal wire to the tach wire".
Tach wire is on the back of the tach. |
James,
I bought an MSD "RPM Activated Switch" that takes one of their electronic "pills." The instructions are comprehensive. Do you have one of these, or does your switch hook directly to the tach wire (purple?) |
Shift light
First off, do you have an MSD or Crane Ignition system?
If so do the following: You will have three wires on the shift light to connect. One for 12V(red). One for Ground(black) and one for connecting the tach (green). The green wire will connect to the tach output on your MSD or the Greeb wire on your crane Unit. If your MSD does not have the tach output on the side of the unit, check to see if you have the Green wire like the crane system. If so use that one. Are you running a after market tach as well? If you are, connect the Green wire to the same wire that you connected the tach to. That will operate both. In some cases the tach may have a wire specifaclly for the Shift light. |
