Read a thread a few days ago in which a member bought a car and showed a pic of trailering it behind a tow dolly. I've heard a couple of opinions on this. Several options are available for towing vehicles in general: tow bar, tow dolly and car hauler. Although I'd much prefer to have the latter, I own a tow dolly, but have not used to tow the p-car...what's the skinny on this? I'd love to take the car with me sometime behind my 35' motorhome, but not at risk of damaging my rear drive transmission.

I just drove to an autoX about 3 hours away and rented the dolly from U-Haul for $40. Worked great - towed with a Grand Cherokee at 70 mph. I hope it does not damage the trans!

I just brought my car from Massachusets to Wisconsin but did it on a ful car trailer. It did real well of course bu in doing so, my concern wth a dolly would be scraping the rea end if some of that all to familiar raod construction popped up. I did this behind a 25' Penske truck and would say invest in the trailer.

cant see what harm it would do. i beleive it is not a good idea to haul autos but a manual trans i would think is ok.
unless theres an oil pump or something not working. maybe thats why autos dont work, because the trans fluid doesnt get pumped.

i just read jacks old post. the only issue you've got (imho) is how the m/home handles with the 911 attached - try it. if it handles ok i'd go for it. just take it easy!
