Smile Have to be easy - Bumber Smile

I hope that this operation to the P-car would be Eeeaaaasy... .

So how is the front bumber moulding/gasket i.e. smile replaced? I really hope that I do not have to dismantle the whole front bumber. Anyway, must be easier than the windshield gasket. Are there any special tricks to know or absolute do nots.

Thanks for advice .

/TcJ

I thinkh you will have to remove the front bumper - there are screws attaching the smile and can be reached by removing the front bumper.

You do have to remove the front bumper, which is not that big of a deal. If your paint is very nice, then you will want plenty of clean towels on hand and possibly a helper. Replacing the smile is easy once you have the bumper off.

Expect to spend about 3 hours if this is your first bumper removal. This is also a good time to replace any faded or cracked headlight washer nozzles

Good luck.

An easy job. The most difficult part was reconnecting the electrical wires to the fog lamps. They just don't give you much room in there.

I just did mine, '82SC Targa. I didn't remove the valance or disconnect the foglights. I did remove the rubber accordians. Get a second person to help you slide the bumper back on. Easy job.

Smile

Thanks for everybody for advices.
Just did mine just according to your advices and Bentley manual. Took three hours but that included also thorough cleaning of everything exposed.

It was straight forward job but assistance is very useful when fitting the bumber back.
