How do I get to the defroster switch?

For whatever reason, my cab has a lighted defroster switch in the dash next to the fog lights. I want to use the switch to control my oil cooler fan. Anway, I'm not sure how to access the back. It appears to be in some compartment. The front has the plastic bexel with four holes, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't come out through the front.

The rear of the switch is accessed from the trunk. It's pretty tight though. You're best bet it to remove the A/C vent from the dash and reach in through the hole to get to the rear of the switch.
