Looking at a converted '76...need some opinions
I'm buying my first 911 and came across this ad;
Description- '76 Targa Turbo All steel wide body with 3.0 ltr non-intercooled turbo engine, 915 trans, Bremtec brakes, C2 mirrors, 3.8 tail, Chrome turbo twist wheels. Car is very fast, own a turbo at half the cost of a original or half the cost of building your own! $13,500. I spoke with the owner, he's only had the car for 4 months (might be a dealer but he's not saying) and doesn't have a lot of history. Doesn't know when the engine was changed out. Says the wide body is aftermarket but doesn't know much more that that. Describes the int/ext as 7.5 of 10 with very nice paint. It's the price range, vintage, model and color I'm looking for and a lot of car for the money if it's right. I'd have a PPI done but am wondering if I should stay away altogether. Thanks for your opinion.
