New pics with the polished 9's
Just got finished stripping and polishing a set of 9's and 7's (repeat over and over, I will never do this again). I used a dark metallic grey for the backgroud on this set. Here are some pics of the results.

Looks sharp Mark. Did you use a polishing wheel, or finger power?

It took some of both. The oven cleaner left spots that were fairly deep. I used a scotchbrite thing mounted on a drill to get most of that. Then 220, 400, 1000, 1500 wet sand, then electric buffer with rubbing compound and mothers mag polish. Sore fingers....

Alf,
I'm not there yet. Those pics were at White Rock Lake (Dallas version of Lake Samm). The car leaves next week and I'll follow a week later. |

Just bought some 16 by 9's. Cost me a grand for two of
them. Worth it though! |

Sweet. Print a big set of those pictures out, put them in a photo-album-style plastic protectors, and tape them to the inside windows of the car before the shipper takes it. It'll serve as a good reminder of how pristine the car was when it left your hands, and it'll also probably work to convince the guys driving the truck that they should get a 911.

Hey Mark, Looks great with the 9's.
Have you ever thought of spraying the plastic inserts around your headlights black ? I did mine but I have a black car.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the compliments. JMZ - 205/50 F and 245/45 R. Can't wait to see your car after. Bob - I have a set of H4's to install when time allows. JonT - Wesleys foam on the tires. Black Chrome a couple times over the last year on the rubber. It lasts real well. Mike - It's all good. Carol and I are going to try again. She got an offer to transfer to MS Corp after we decided and both thought it would be a fresh start. I'm still with the same company but my job changed to real estate acquisitions and I was able to take it portable - best of all worlds. Keep fingers crossed. |
