New Kunho Tire

Here is a sneak peak at the new DOT Kumho710 tire that is being tested. I don't have any information on this yet but thought that you all would like to see it.

Looks like they are trying to compete with Hoosier...

Though I wonder how many organizations will allow it since it is, in essence, a slick.

Thanks for the "spy photo"

The club member that I got this from also posted a little information from a Tire Rack test session and it scored better than the current Hoosier..... Looks promising....

But the Tire is DOT approved? Then clubs should except it.
Looks like an interesting Tire. Any ideas on cost?

How can a slick be DOT approved? I thought it had to have 3/32" of tread?

It does have the required tread depth in the 2 rings that circle the tire.
The Hoosier uses it too. Pic of Hoosier DOT tire.
I'd be interested in the test session report, sizes and cost of the new Kumho.
Thanks for the spy shot.

No idea on cost or sizes yet, there should be more information available after the SCCA runoffs.
