Bought a '73 RS; gotta sell my VERY NICE '75 Euro Carrera
Classic case of good news/bad news!
I just bought a spectacular viper green '73 RS, but unfortunately I can't justify having 3 Porsches right now. Regrettable thismeans that my Special Order, matching #'s '75 Euro Carrera has to go. I have posted a very lengthy description in the 911 Classified Parts section. Please take a look and email or call me if interested. BTW, I will post some pics of my new RS over the weekend, so that I don't get tarred & feathered by the Board for selling my Euro! Best regards to all! Rob

That's the kind of good news/bad news I could handle all day long.

Awww Rob, isn't that the one you just picked up about 6-8 months ago?? I gotta have a look at her before she's gone. Hey and I see you around town every once in awhile in your TT. Usually on Golden Lantern.

Didn't you sell your other '73 RS after you decided to keep the '75 Carrera?

I wish I would have jumped on that car when it was on ebay. You are going to make some money on that car with an asking price of 36K. That is awesome

Like Edward Burns moving from Heather Graham to Christy Turlington, shortly after having left the (pretty hot) actress he'd married earlier in life, Rob has moved between two Carrera RS's and an MFI Euro Carrera with an intestring pedigree of its own.
He's a man with a stable life and a happy marriage. But when it comes to cars, he's kind of a player. Since 'paternity' and 'alimony' aren't words that apply to cars, we should all be so lucky.

SCVWGUY,
Don't forget the time he took to make all the work mentionned, plus the importing costs that have to be added on the Ebay end price. GeorgeK |

I had the pleasure of driving this car at the R Gruppe gathering last May. It is one fast car, faster than my '73 RS. Here is a link to the ad with some pictures that Rob asked me to post.
Ad for '75 Carrera 2.7

No, it's true. It seems faster than other 2.7RS cars I've driven, including driving his old '73 Carrera RS back to back with it. It may have some "tweaks" under the surface. Maybe the MFI pump is just set-up really well. Hard to say, but it goes really well.

And the weight difference between a '73 RS touring and this '75 euro car is negligible.

Truer words have never been spoken! I might not have figured out much, but I have learned that it is cheaper to swap old cars than to swap old wives! Perhaps it is because I have seen some of the checks that my clients have written when they have opted to upgrade to "newer models" Thank god I've got a cool wife so that isn't an issue. Hey No Static~ Flag me down when you see me cruising around town. Hopefully you're not one of the people that I have pissed off with my occasional land speed record attempts on Golden Lantern!

Rob, I think that it was Motion, (Richard), not Nostatic, (Todd).

The '74 to '76 Carrera 2.7 is faster on a track with the same driver, because the shell is stiffer, the rear suspension is stiffer, making the car more precise to drive fast. Engine-wise, Speeder is on the spot.

Curt,
Not that car. I talked to Don about that car. He's a great guy and that car appears to be a gem. I just happened to find a different viper green RS in Pittsburgh and I grabbed it before anybody else found out about it! Pics forthcoming this afternoon! Best regards. Rob

You are correct and now my challenge is to find out why there is a noticeble difference in performance. I have many off-season projects in mind for the RS and this will be one of them. One major problem is the lack of good, qualified mechanics in my area to figure these things out.

If anything at all, Brian, you have a "good problem." Congratulations!
BTW: I knew there was a reason I liked the 74-75 Carreras over the '73s.
