Does anybody have experience with limited slip diffs for 911's ?. I have an early 1971 911S and am wondering about using a limited slip diff in it. The primary use is autocrossing and drivers ed events. I have seen that I can either get a gear driven limited slip device (Torsen style) or clutch driven - what are the pros and cons of each and which would work best given my driving conditions ??
Thanks for your help ! |

A ZF lsd will add to understeer, probably not what you want for A/X.
The better choice in that venue is the Quaife gear type which will be inactive until power is applied. Helping you to scoot.

Contact Paul Guard at Guard transmission (888) 89GEARS for tech literature covering the limited slip vs. torque bias types. Regretfully the LS works on the track not auto cross and the TB is the opposite. I have TB in my 914 auto cross car and love it. Ron Shade
