Show Me Some Cab Mods
With all the talk and show of RS/RSR and other body, engine and interior mods I'm interested in some done to cab's. Just because it's not the ideal track platform doesn't mean it's not capable of modification and a little track work.

I'd love to do a full-on project with comprehensive photo documentation of structural reinforcements made to a Cabriolet in preparation for Track work.
I'd need a client to come to the shop and offer up their car for the work, (which they'd have to pay for of course, unfortunately) who isn't afraid of major welding being done to their car. It may even require some cutting! ![]() I could take photos of what I've done to my car, but they wouldn't photograph very well, since it's all finished and painted. It would photograph better during the process.

Tyson,
Sounds good, unfortunately I'm 2000 miles away. I think often about what I'd like to do to my cab vs. selling and starting over. I guess I've got too much heart and sole in it now to get rid of it. I've upgraded or replaced all the suspension bushings and t-bars and am thinking about upgrading, and re-enforcing, the sway bars. I figured the addition of a camber brace and I'd be in good shape. I'm no track nut, but it's nice to sneak some good mods in for the autocross or DE days. I understand you've done some major mods to your cab, I'd love to hear or see more about them. JG

Yes, I have. It was a mission to stiffen the car to near-coupe levels.
I started with rocker stiffeners. I bought some pre-formed panels (from Eurotek) that lay over the inner rockers and extend from behind the doors, to the front kick-panels. Then I installed a strut brace, and triangulated it with welded-in 1 inch tubing that runs from each shock tower, down to the front of the center tunnel. (Directly to the right of the gas pedal.) My future plans involve tying in the rear of the center tunnel to the rear torsion tube, and possibly adding in a second floorboard at center tunnel height that runs from the rear firewall, and terminates at the area directly below the front of the front seats, so as not to interfere with the drivers feet.
