Sold the beater and bought a Porsche puller.

I thought some of you guys would want to see the old beater I used to drive on less than favorable days. I sold it and bought a '94 GMC Suburban tow vehicle. As far as this thread being on topic check out the hood badge and shift knob...

Apparently he transferred the rust from one vehicle to the other. I believe it has something to do with the 9th law of thermodynamics...

When I saw the topic line, I mistakenly thought the photos were of the new Porsche-puller!

I've got one of these too. I use it for first dates. Gun racks are too difficult to reach when you're driving. My SIG fits in the arm rest box pretty well.

The arm rest box is too small for my .45 LC. But I do LOVE THE 3/4 ton!!! Sorry to see her go. Especially to a large station wagon

Needed a dependable car hauler that would house the whole family and all my gear. Truck wasn't fitting the bill. I will miss the climb in and throw stuff on the floor aspect...

Out of interest, what year is that truck and how many miles has it done?

I'm curious as to what people manage to squeeze out of the older trucks, compared to newer Ford/Chev etc. Especially since I've seen a couple of Avalanches here in Melbourne...

1985 with the 300 cubic inch inline 6. The odometer broke at 259,000 miles several years ago.

'94 Chevy 1/2 ton (C1500) with a 5.7L 350, 1st gen Vortec, 3.73 rear end, vinyl bench seat, single cab, with towing package (heavy 1/2 ton). Have over 170,000 miles on her and she is still running strong. Still easily pulls 7,500 pounds.

No smoke, not even on startup. No leaks ever. Chevy replaced the trans twice (both defective transmissions) and the transmission intercooler, new brake master cylinder, new A/C compressor, new brakes, new tires (twice), new A/C controller unit, flushed radiator once, change oil every 3K, and add gas. That is the entire list of repairs. Gun rack is stealth and she still pulls away from most vettes off the line, my wife so informs me.

Shawn..with a set of bull horns on the hood and pistol grip door handles that truck will be a chick magnet!

When did Porsche make those? Was it a precurser to the Cayenne?

I just sold my trusty 1989 Chevy K2500 (to a friend!) with just over 200,000 miles. 5.7 w/ Flowmaster exhaust and a K&N filter. 700R4 tranny, 3.73, wide tires for better cornering. Well, come on! How many trucks have you seen with a dead pedal for cornering? Doesn't burn a drop of oil, still runs strong. Original tranny lasted over 190,000 miles, with lots of towing, and foolish driving when not towing.

Bought a 2001 K2500HD. Hope it lasts as long.
