Locating an original SC Weissach edition tail??
Hello all....
I am considering the switch from a ducktail to the Weissach tail, which I believe is the same, or similar to the Carrera tail...not sure. My 80SC is Black Metallic, the same color as some of the Weissach cars, so it would be a bolt on job.....if I could locate one. Anyone know where to look for something like this? Anyone selling one at the Autofest swapmeet? TIA -B

The EARLY Carrera tails are the same. The later ones have a flat profile on the left and right ends, where the Weissach and early tails had a tapered radius.
I recently found several and ended up buying one at a really great price. The remaining tails were at: Group911@aol.com Eurogrp1@aol.com Both are white. Expect to pay in the $600 - $800 range or more. I searched extensively and couldn't find a tail from an actual Weissach model, so good luck!

Does the Carrera tail fit ok? Why are you considering fiberglass?

The Weissach, Carrera 3.0, early turbo, IROC, and all rubber tail are all basically the same tail. The IROC is bigger, and the turbo has an extra grill.
They are some of the coolest tails.
