I wish I could tell you which wires so to which gauge, etc. However, I can tell you that even if these wires are not connected your alternator should still be charging the battery. You may want to buy the correct book for your car (see this site for your year, etc.) I did and it helped me as a reference. Toward the back you'll find wiring diagrams which can help you get a start on putting the wires back to the correct positions. Good luck! James

Rusty,

You already have the answer, and color schematic to your 'VDO Poll' question ... Blue D+/61 wire from relay/regulator/CDI panel ...

Thanks I tried that but no luck. I did get some other things going but I guess it's just time to empty the pocket book and tank it in. The last time i did this it cost 365.00 and made it home and it was time to start pulling the guages out as fast as i could to prevent a fir. Thanks again.. Rusty

Not Charging

If the D1, (blue) wire is not connected at the gauge the alternator will not charge. I know from first hand experience, had a broken wire at the VR and had a H**L of a time tracking it down.
