Big Bear Run III ~ VIDEO!!!!!

I finally got off of my butt, out of the big hole in my car, and made the Big Bear Run III Video. I hope you guys like it and don’t think it’s just a repeat of the BBRII video. Enjoy!

Large but dial-up capable:Big Bear Run III - 6 MB

Better all around version:Big Bear Run III - 13.1 MB

For the bandwidth hogs out there:Big Bear Run III - 61.6 MB

Well, I logged on just in time.

However, on a Mac, I get sound but no picture, with the latest Mac Windows Media Viewer.

Anyone know a workaround for Macs?

That sucks. Hopefully we can figure that out. I used the lastest version of Window Movie Maker. You've got to love Microshaft.

Thanks a lot, Ryan! Obviously, as I sit "over here" I didn't get to do the run myself, but being the first thing I did upon arriving in the office is to see the video....phew!!! Set my heart pumping faster, it did. You can see that, in spite of all the sorry crap increasingly being produced in Hollywood, there is a lot of movie making talent on the west coast: the video is very well put together: the moving pics and slides just right and the choice, mix, and timing of the music is right on the dot. Had a good laugh at the "Titanic" bit, too, the greasy rock 'n roll perfectly fitting the featured sports cars as to the icy soundtrack to that wallowing whale passenger car scene. Congratulations on a job well done. BTW, are those Porsches?

Well, my makeshift solution was to burn a copy onto a CD, as well as the installer for the new Media Player, and put it all on my PC laptop (which I can barely manage to turn on, even).

For some reason, I get no audio on the PC, and no video on the Mac. I ran them together, and it matched up well enough to enjoy.

AWESOME! Not that the cornfields and wooded areas in Ohio are bad scenery but man it sure looks pretty out there.

Nice footage! Bummed I missed it. We gotta get planning SBRII.

So, Ryan, you must be chompin' at the bit to get that 3.6 in your car. Are you going to host an engine install clinic

No video for me on my Mac either (I tried the low bandwidth one). Ryan, what version of the OS and WinMedia are you using?

I will see if the any of the other files work locally for me on a Mac, and if I can't fix it that way, try and recompress as a QT file.

My employer has blocked sites that contain or to view a video. A message appears, "Access denied to system because of Policy Configuration". I know someone mentioned here that there's a patch or program I can download that would over-ride this. I tried searching for it but to no avail. Can someone help me here?

Thanks,

I'm all for it but we'd have to tow my car to the top of the mountain and coast it back.

Glad you guy's liked it. I hope we can get the format worked out so everyone can see it.

OS=XP / It ran fine on 2000 pro here at work, WMP version 7.10.00.3055
Media=Window Movie Maker, version ? (it has been updated recently, I'll check when I get home)

The only other format I can make it in w/ WMM is a avi but that would put it over a 100 MB.

Well done video! Cant wait for the temps here to drop a bit so I can go for a longer run! Maybe next year I can join you guys, it sure looked great! Mark your calenders for the Feb 6-8 Run To The Queen in Arizona. 1000 miles give or take, all two laners, two mountain passes, scenic desert and through woods to rolling southern arizona. The Queen is the Famous "Copper Queen" hotel in Bisbee Az. Stops along the way include the wine country, the observatories outside Tucson, Tombstone and other options. I am putting together the tentative schedule of events now and will post more details in November. Hope your cinematograpgher can make it! Great job- it will be hard to go back to work now! (Work? oh yeah).

Bruce, that sounds like a blast! Keep us posted.

I just updated my work computer to WMP 9.00.00.2980. I don't know if this will do anything for the Mac guys though.

Well its about time! You would think you had some sort of engine swap going on down there Ryan.

Video looks great. Have it at work and at home. Worked fine for me and thats all that really matters right?

Thanks for putting this together, really. I know its alot of work but its great to look back and say "When the hell is the next one!"

DD74 - Did you get my package?

See people at GAF.
