928 S4 calipers on 76 930

I have acquired the large calipers from the front of a 928 S4 and the 2 piece rotors as well. I have the adaptors to attach them to my 930 struts.

I am trying to keep the rear calipers in the same "style" as the fronts. If the rear 928s4 calipers have the side mount pattern, will they fit my 76 930 trailing arms? and if so, can I use the stock 930 rotor? any and all help appreciated!!

You will want to use either the 965 rear calipers or the 993tt rear calipers. The 965 will be a slightly better match for the 993/S4 front caliper that you propose to use.

Neither caliper will bolt on, they have a ~94mm OC mount(from memory) that does not match either the early 3" or late 3.5" mounts on 930 trailing arms. The mods can be done one of 2 ways, VCI will machine the axial mounts off and change the caliper into a radial mount as on the front or Power Haus will plug and redrill.

Both of those rear calipers should be used w/ a stock '79 on 930 rotor which is a bolt on and retains the stock parking brake.

I don't want the extra weight of the large calipers on the rear. trying to get some of it moved to the front. do you know the spacing of the C4 rear caliper?

what is OC mount?

A 993 C4 rear is the same caliper as the 993tt rear yes it is a big caliper using the same pads as the 993/S4 front that you already have.

That was one factor in my rec. of the 965 rear caliper, which is a small one. All of the axial mount Brembos have the same spacing. The weight difference is minor I have a set of each on my bench right now. The pad area difference and piston difference is major.

OC - on center, the distance between the mounting hole centers

Go here for a summary of whats available.
