The "rod" you mention is actually a piece of stainless steel wire(plastic coated) that supports the K&N. I fabbed up a bracket to support the filter itself, but there was nothing to keep it from flopping over during acceleration/braking etc.. It wants to fall forward towards the firewall, and this keeps it held in one place with no movement. It was basically a sailboat racer's (me) answer to the problem.:D cheers !! |

The Dual Out muffler I'm speaking of is a modification to a factory muff. Basically adding an identical tail pipe on the passenger side. I am STILL searching for an article (I can't remember if it was in Excellence or European car) that shows a 7-10 hp dynoed gain over stock with this change. |
