why do cats like to piss on 911 alloys?

i've noticed this for years. do you think they smell like a litterbox to the cats? is there a cure anybody found, other than taking the beast on a long drive? just cleaned them off yesterday, and there's yellow liquid on them again this morning. somewhat corrosive to aluminum. i'm assuming it's a cat, a dog would know better.

"a dog would know better." LOL

I think it's likely from some of your jealous neighbors. . . from Fremont. (Have ya ever noticed the bronze turned green on the Lennin Statue? ) *that* would have to be one big cat, doing that!

Wink

Its got to be dog and a male dog at that. Or maybe a jealous neighbor? Just run some serious voltage through the rim and that should solve the problem (shock therapy). Every year some guy loses his member or close to it peeing on the electric fences or rail lines.

I like the idea someone else had of attaching a nice, strong battery to the car and hooking it up so the body is charged. Touch it and you complete the circuit. Cure the little beast right quick!

I doubt the alloy would conduct enough electricity. Maybe enough guys have tried this so that cats now avoid steel wheels?

You need a dog fast enough to catch the cat (fast enough to catch birds in their mouths, in fact).

One morning I walked outside to find paw prints all over the hood, windsheild and trunk of my car. So that night I let, Ceaser, my 80 lb. pitbull sleep outside. The next morning there were no paw prints but a ton of cat fur.

Have to agree with JW that it's cats. I've caught them on 4 different sets of fuchs. Fortunately it was never my own cat. Some sort of territorial scent marking perhaps, and as cars are mobile they get marked by lots of strange cats whose scent then needs to be overwritten. I don't think it causes corrosion but I hose the wheels off and then wipe down with wd40 on a rag.

If you can trap it, give it a haircut like this.

My cat pissed on the 911 right after I got it. Twice on the wheels and once in the front trunk while I was was working on a different part of it, but that was it. I think it was something new in the garage and he wanted to send a message.

The one week that my car was parked outside, it was liberally tracked with cat paw prints. I did not get down to sniff the wheels but I am sure they were marked. I am not sure what draws the beasts to the wheels but a water rinse to dilute the uric acid makes sense. That and introducing them to my 160lb great dane who has an intense predator-prey reaction to cats.

I don't know how true this is, but a friend of mine told me, years ago, a story about a neighbor who walked his dog & let him pee on the guy's wheel/tire everytime the dog went by the car. He complained to the neighbor who said he didn't have control over the dog. The guy rigged up a thin copper wire from the coil thru the wheel well, let it drape down over the side of the wheel and stripped the insulation off the end. The next day he turned the ignition key on and when the owner of the dog walked it down the street & the dog stopped to pee on the wheel, he got so charged up he ran down the street howling with the owner in tow. Like I say, I don't know if it's just a story, but if you could rig it up to make it work, it might solve the problem.

mothballs is the answer. crush a few next to your parking space. cats were pissing on my freshly re-finished wheels (no clearcoat) which actually started to pit them. no more cat piss on the wheels since doing this. it smells real "mediciney" but then again i park mine under a carport so it's not too bothersome.

I've had success with black pepper before back when a neighborhood cat loved to sleep and pee on my rag top.
I've read that coffee grounds seems to work as well.

Yuck, this reminds me of a problem I had with dog #2 outside my garage door most mornings. So I staked out the place and a guy came walking along with his dog and it did a mighty dump right outside the door, so I explained to the guy I was going to do the wiping face in it training method (not the dog) if he didn't clean it up right now. LOL, he did clean it up and hasn't been back, but someone did let down all four tires on the 911 a couple of days later.

I have the same problem. They would piss on my Pcars wheels, for somereason, after i used Mothers Alloy Polish, they stopped pissing on them. They still use the back bumper guards to climb, and sleep on my Targa top, of which, I have to keep covered at all times. I also have the same problem with the basterds pissing on my XJ6 chrome wheels.
