If There Were No Porsche's What Would You Drive?

I posted this on another Porsche board. I'm interested in the response from the 911 crowd.

I have a hard time with this question.

Cayenne is not a legitimate answer! :D

A lotus, or a 1988 Nissan Pickup 4x4 with the 2.4 4-cylinder, no cat, 2k rpm idle, rust holes, primer spots all over it, and bald tires (if you can't tell, this was my highschool vehicle code named DUKE, it's a legend at Dover High School, and i miss it).

That is TOO easy...

...a Mercedes Benz 230 SL of course!

I am partial to Healey or if I went newer Audi S4 on steroids or maybe a WRX STi (drove one a few weeks back, really nice car)

I would still be running around in my Geo Metro since that's what I traded for the 911. On the other hand I would probably snag up an old Corvette if I had the chance.

I have actually been comtemplating this. I can't bring myself to drive my 911 in the winter yet I hate driving my '96 Civic all winter long. I have thought about selling both and buying a late '90's BMW M3.

But then I wouldn't have a 911. :(

Nah.

A Buick Park Ave...Ah I can see it now...floating down the road without a care, going 50 on the turnpike, in the left lane, with my blinker on.....Ah I can see it now....

Just before I found my car I was going to buy a 03 Tundra excab Limited. $36k at 0% financing. I remind the wife when I need something, like yesterday $500 tires & $200 brakes, about the $700 payment I don't have. :D This spring I am going to buy a beater PU (gun rack & all) for under $3K

A 1972 Datsun 240Z, Had one before the Porsche, Loved driving it and working on it was easy. Lots of power for a light weight car. Here is a old picture of it, the paint is white lacquer. The original color was orange and had been sprayed blue. I didn't like either color so I stripped the car to bare metal and went with the white lacquer. Humm! now why would I do that?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1063312325.jpg

I'd still have the cars I have, but the Porsche place in the stable would be taken by a Renault Alpine A110 w/ an 1800 Gordini motor.

Mini Cooper S
or try to buy back my old 86 Honda CRX Si from my cousin.

dotorg 09-11-2003 12:54 PM

I'd just drive my S4. In fact, I had to drive it today because my stupid f!*$ drivers door still opens even when its locked.
