HP Junkies Return from the Dark side

Return from the Dark side……

Since we had so much Fun on the other current thread I figure I give you guys even more Juice..........As I promise.......

Please be aware this is going to be a long post so grab your diet coke and enjoy it…….

II promise this to many people, after I got all my results with proof I was reluctant to post all this info as I feel that is all insignificant and who cares anyways, As I been approached by one of my advisors and a few close friends they insisted that I must post this out, after seen the extend of the support from my camp I feel that this is the least that I can do for all of them, so here goes……….

Well the last 2 months we been testing and changing this and that, we had run 4 different turbos along with some other modifications, contrary to many people in the industry I refuse to walk away from the factory motronics and in the process I drove all of my camp members crazy, after a series of changes we lost 2 days trying to push the envelop even further that we had, we were working very late at night trying to reach some unrealistic goals but that dint stop us, so after a series of ups and downs the day came and once more we find our self’s in the dyno for the 3 time this year to gain even more hp, well we dyno the car and the results were 623.9 rwhp once again single plug single turbo with the factory motronics, you can imagine our joy that almost brought tears to us as a group of guys have come together and done the impossible for many others, our main goal was to prepare the car for a ¼ mile drag event, we did and the car was running outstanding even that we de-tuned her a bit. 595RWHP

So the event was a local event and we enter the “Street Class” we had installed drag radials and down we went, we took the car on Friday to tested and the car was running fantastic but the driver (me) was awful but I try my best and we were in the mid 12s at 125+mph all of our runs were in that vicinity.

Saturday was the qualifying so again we went and we set the lowest E.T. at 12.5 and the HIGEST mph 128mph in our class, once more the feeling of joy was hard to describe, as they had many test and trials I insisted and I continue to try a lower E.T. and that’s when things start to get ugly, the car start to act up and pass the 5500 rpm the engine was cutting on and off, since we were sit at the # 1 spot we had qualified already so we feel safe but we continue the trials but no luck, we had the greatest opportunity as we line up to A 240sx with the skyline turbo engine, what I feel could be a fantastic race turn out to be a disaster as my car was acting up and to top it up I miss a gear, later on the 240 suffer a mayor failure and was retired , so all of our runs we had nothing but trouble, we decided to drive the car in the hiway a bit to see if we could figure out what was the problem.

As we are driving we had a “Visitor” it appears that this fellow in a 650 bike whish to “DANCE with us” as you can imagine I’m in no mood for this, I had a miserable day plus I had a car in front, as this fellow keeps insisting is very obvious he is damm sure he wants to dance with us, I have one of my tuners with me (designated crew chief for the weekend, lol ) he keep insisting that we should race the bike, the bike wants to dance my tuners wants to dance D hell with this, LETS DANCE! As the car in front turns is all clear the bike lines up,my tuners is ready and we go from a 65mph roll I down shift to 3er and the “DANCE is ON! As I go from 3er to 4 to 5 I keep asking my tuner where the bike is. Where’s the bike? He just replay he is back there some where, at 170mph my tuner call the race off, we think we got 3 school buses in front, race over so we all went to work on the car, we work until 300am but no luck, we call the night………..

Early in the morning by coincidence we meet this fellow even more interesting one of the top dogs from the “Street Racing Scene “was there and this was one of the guys from their camp, we talk about it we laugh and the young fellow stood tall in front of us as he admitted tO lose without excuse, just like the old days no BS just fun.

The next morning as I sleep very little I spend all night up praying to the Turbo Gods all I wanted was a good run something special something for the camp something to keep us going into the next level, so down we went……

Sunday

So since I dint sleep any very early we when down, I happen to be the very first person to test in that early morning, as I sit in the box I can smell the fresh grass of a beautiful Sunday morning, as the birds go by and the sun start to wake up I’m just wonder if the Turbo Gods have hear my prayers, as I sit there there’s no one soul on the stands is all me and my 5 years in the making, so the light goes green and we go, as soon as I shift to 2 gear it feels like my eye balls were in the back of my head as I rip to the gears this one feel different the car was 100% there she dint miss a bit I was happy we made one clean pass, no big deal, as I am returning to get my time slip I continue to race on the pits and as soon as I arrive to the time slip tent the official gives me a “warning” he just replay “slow down or you are out of here” which I apologize as that’s not cool racing on the pits, I get my time slip and as I look twice I return it to the official under the impression that this has to be a mistake ,he smile to me and said that’s why I have to slow down, as I look at it reads 11.98 @133mph! My turbo Gods were with me! All my prayers were hear Loud and clear, unfortuanly this was only a test run and we did not video tape it, some how by the end of the day everyone was aware of it, in our eyes this was a moral victory from that point on nothing else will matter, as I was on the # 1 spot I got bumped to # 2 the best time was a 12.3 which we ran Saturday all day long, no big deal, our first elimination it was a bye run as our opponent broke, once again we barely made it to the end as the car start once more to act up to make things even worst I miss a gear and
(I hate this part) I had the emergency brake on, I know, I know, Dumas’s! So we made a high 13s, SO WE made it to the semifinals we ran a turbo integra and once again she was running like crap so we got eliminated, funny do, the guys from that camp they saw that we have been running the entire weekend on the left lane so they ask for, they even told me that they were aware that the car was not running good so with the change on lanes and a little luck they figure

I was at risk, and indeed I was done for the day, The turbo Gods have chosen then, By the end of the day the closest mph to us was 15 mph lower, in all we had a blast as a lot of people were interested in the 911, we will bounce back and time will tell…….

As we will be moving away from the factory motronics into a fuel mgnt system and a few other bits next race is in Dec so I feel that we could be ready to go.

Many, Many Thanks to all my guys from my Camp for all the great support you guys are the best! And of course to you guys here too.

Well there you have it, this is what we live for……….

Great story. Getting into the 11's is awesome. (But I'm almost more impressed by the car running 13's with the e-brake on!)

Thanks Guys,
Make no mistake been able to tell the "world" about this brake on, is not easy you should have seen the guys face and 3 of my advisors were there they were like Man! kind of funny now but not that day .

On the miss we think we know what the problem is but as right now Im at idle as we be installing (looks like an electromtive tech 2 )that is been donated to me by one of my tuners,so thats on the works,in addition we have to finish the pipe to the intercooler to the throddle body and install a bigger one on the process and we going to another turbo this will be our number 5,we did finish our custom made one of a kind air filter,I can remenber if I ever posted but here goes along with our latst Exhaust design, the never ending list..........

You should be able to take .6 seconds off your 60' times with a little practice and up to 1 second with the correct suspension set up, I assume that your suspension is stock. Very impressive.

Finally! Thank god! Get that anti-lag online and you'll see some really nice numbers...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Great story, by the way, sub 12's on Mo(to)ronic is really hero stuff.

Damm this is a old one, I was under the impression I was having a dream, lol, well Tim you know me, Im always at the edge I am not sure if you heard the latest news? well not so new but we got a ´¨partial sponsorship´¨ From a turbo company and as we speak according to the new members of the camp is going to be a (Nasty turbo)it appears that they too had their share of skeptics so I been promise 30 years of turbo expirence are at my hand so we will test this coming up turbo it is very very posible that with minimal effort we get into the 700rwhp but me and Mr.Motronics are about to go separate ways....... MAYBE as I am having troubble with the camp in which direction to go I do have a free electromotive tech 2 at my disposal just with a phone call But it appears that they boys want to go in different paths, some wish to install DTA, and some have even sugested to go Pressure sensing from Protomotive as Mr.Motronics is been so nice to us either way this has to be resolve SOON which way I am not sure yet but thrust me you guys will be the first ones to know.

Maybe is me but theirs a Great Deal of Crave for hp posts is it?

Regarding this

Im glad you posted a time slip... maybe that will shut up some of the putzs.

I promise to be a Nice Juan and never call anyone any names a promise I tend to keep but you can imagine what the little Hp Demmons inside me are saying

Juan,

Congrats on the sub 12.

How hard are you launching the car? Dropping the clutch at 5k or easy off the line and nail it????

Do you have any photos you could post of your exhaust system?

What exhaust are you running?

Tinker
