Does this mean someone else will be able to use the engine stand? Wow - that really looks great. I hope everything is back together before the 28th. Better hurry up and get some miles on that thing!

How did you do the upper valve covers?? I really like that black with gray lettering. I've seen others do it too.
Jay,

I used black brake caliper paint on the valve covers. After the paint dried I went over the raised areas (lettering top, ribs lower) with a block sander.

Damn, that engine looks good. My kitchen floor isn't that clean.

Yeah, it sure does..
and from following Charlie's act I Know it's a class act

but those pics don't show the finished product properly.. I'm not sure, but I need more depth to those pics.. like it almost looks
un-worthy.. maybe the storm has me spinning/whatever......Ron

Shore is purty ... problem is it's a Porsche so it'll be leaky and oily in no time :P :)

Very clean build ... would love to hear if it's as fast as it looks.

kstylianos 09-19-2003 07:30 AM

Keith,

The stand is not for sale. It a community NoVA stand/yolk that we all pitched in to buy. I've been hogging it for a while. I think the waiting list is HUGE.

Will that stand work on a 993 engine? I think my clutch is slipping;).

CARRERIC 09-21-2003 05:28 PM

Nice job Charlie. Did you get the VHT polyurathane in a spray? At the autoparts store? I'm just about to do my intakes.

Eric

Doug E 09-21-2003 05:39 PM

Charlie - I just sent you an e-mail about getting my hands on the stand next :)

geof33 09-21-2003 05:43 PM

Isn't p0rn like that illegal???

kstylianos 09-21-2003 06:21 PM

Doug.....The engine is off the stand and on the MC jack. The stand and yolk are yours for the taking.

Eric.....I ordered the VHT clear from Jegs.com

You BI@CH, I bet the guys at the factory couldn't even come close to that. And thoes picture are not good for the pocket book, and should be banned and I am going to report you to the moderator.    Makes you not even want to install it and start it up.

MotoSook 09-22-2003 03:53 AM

Yeoh! Me Gusto! Very nice work Charlie. I must have the same decease you have, because my "drop the engine to fix an leaky t-stat" turned into a powder coat this and that and argh...too much purdy stuff. Kevin knows, and his car is more of a garage queen than mine!

Please post HP numbers when you get them. I am very interested in getting more HP out of my CIS 3.0.

I powder coated my engine tin too, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Kep those things nice and clean. No more rusty tin!
