3.2 SSI's, Cat-Backs, and assorted exhaust
My friend has an '84 Carrera and wants to get new exhaust on it. I know very little about such vehicles, so I am asking the Pelicanheads for help for my friend. He wants to get SSI's and a new muffler, but he was wondering if he could get a Fabspeed Premuffler for it, or does the SSI hook directly to the new 2 in muffler?

A premuffler is a replacement for a catalytic converter. When you get SSI's there is no catalytic converter, so you can only have one or the other, but not both.

SSI's hook directly into the muffler, no cats, no premufflers. Here's a link with a good picture of what SSI's look like on the bottom of the motor.
