Targa Weatherstripping Replacement
I need to replace the weatherstripping around my Targa bar. I bought a nice clean almost new replacement from a guy on Ebay. Any tips or anything I should know before doing it? Is the best adhesive 3M? How do I clean the area after I tear out the old rubber? Any particular tool best for this? Thanks!

be careful w/this. i had a problem b/c the extra thickness of the new weatherstripping raised the targa top slightly. this gapped the window slightly leaving more space. however, this will not likely be your problem b/c i replaced the front weather stripping also.

The front weatherstriping has a known issue with thickness for cars (89 and pre, I believe?). The rear seal should be fine. 3m weatherstriping adhesive is fine for this. Just be neat, it can be stringy/messy.

Do not attempt to drop that front weatherstripping into the channel. You MUST trim it as per instructions you can gather from Dan at CarsInc. If you don't trim the extra (provided for the later Targas that were redesigned) you risk breaking the latches when you try to snug it all down.
Do a Search on CarsInc here and gather the information you will need. John
