LA guys please check....

Sorry for the post here but the regional forum seems to get very few views for the number of cars in Cali.

Could you please checkout my questions regarding coming to LA in the regional forum. Need info on a few P-car issues.

Thanks
Mark

It looks to me like you got some good responses on the other thread. If you are seeking advice on car searching, all I can tell you is that finding cars is by far the easiest part of living in L.A., IMO. To say that they are abundant here would be the understatement of the (new) century, in fact the huge supply can make one dizzy while looking, a problem in itself. Also, it is a buyer's market for all used cars, Porsches being no exception.

As someone else said, dealers are not generally the place to look for old, (7-8+yrs.), cars. Older 911s, (Carreras, etc.), are always for sale locally+ on the net, but for some reason targas and cabs seem to outnumber coupes available by ~5 to 1. Anyone who doubts this can look on ebay most days. Good luck, and add me to the list of people that you can contact on arrival. I have some pretty strong opinions on the relative desirability of different areas/neighborhoods, but the advice about short commutes was definitely on the money. A couple of hours on a crawling freeway a day can throw a major monkey wrench into the "quality of living" equation, IMHO.

Mark: If you need help in the San Fernando Valley or downtown areas, let me know.
