Should I drive this car or tow it?

Hi all,

I came back from a short drive this weekend, and as I was closing the garage door, I noticed something very wrong with one of my red Konis.

The right rear Koni had become detached at the bottom where it would meet the wheel assembly and it was just hanging free. The bolt was nowhere to be found.

The garage I have my car serviced at is a few miles away and I'd like to take it there. So my question is whether or not it's safe to drive the car in that condition. Will I be all right driving slow on flat roads or do I risk damaging something in the suspension by driving it?

thanks!

I do know that can at least make a roller without shocks but I would be worried about hitting a bump and then the impact of the arm to the shock would leave dents.

Remove the shock then drive it?

Put in a new bolt.
It's not very difficult, unless your original one broke off.

Mine has come loose too. Why not install a new bolt yourself? Should only take about 10 min. just jack up the car until the trailing arm is at max extension. Then compress the shock by hand, instert bolt and torque down. You are done.

Just avoid speeds in excess of 130 mph.
