Updating my interior...part I
Well I am about half way through updating my interior. I am replacing all the carpet and have added Dynamat and Lcomp to help reduce interior noise (next project is a dual out muffler). Here are a few pics of whhere I am today. I did take it for a quick drive to see if I could tell a difference in sound and WOW! Even without any of the of carpet I can tell a HUGE difference. I have a few more places to add Dynamat (doors and along side) before the carpet goes back in...can't wait. The seats (not pictured) we completely refurb a few months ago.

Looks FANTASTIC!!!
But what is Lcomp? And how much did the Dynamat project cost you? I'm keen on it myself and tell me... How much does that damn thing weigh? Is the improvement reasonable for the weight penalty? Thanks! Sprint. |
Can you put that dyna mat under existing seats?
What was the cost? Nice job... Go RS on your door panels. They really look great!!:D |
Nice job. Did the same project on my 951. (can I say that on this board?). Didn't know about dynamat at that time. I'd like additional info on that too, for any future projects.

Dynamat is not cheap and there are numerous sources, I found The Zeb (thezeb.com) and ordered from them.. And it is heavy, althouf the factory stuff I pulled out had to weigh at least as much if not more. I have not weighed it but that stuff was heavy! Worst case I bet I broke even on weight. If there is added wieght is it worth, IMO yes...I also hope to take advantage of rfng's turbo kit later on as well to help negate any performance loss.
Dynamt is sound deapening material and Lcomp is a sound absorbing material (as I understand it). A combination seems to make the best soultion for noise reduction. There are other solutions (even a spray) but I followed rdane's lead...seemed he was pleased with his results, see the following thread: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123782&highlight=dynama t Lcomp is made by B-quiet, not too expensive (www.b-quiet.com). The also make a sound deadening material, it's called brown bead I think. thanks. Wayne |
You're going to be looking for a sport muffler to make that thing louder soon! :D
Looks great. |
Quiet coat ought to weigh a lot less than a Dynamat treatment. Seach for that keyword to find prev. threads.
