unknown relay

Anybody know what this relay does -- I found the cover and am putting it back on. I wonder if this is important?

I'm pretty sure the car is 1 1973.5 -- so it must have come stock with CIS. Could that be what this relay does?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1064213724.jpg

In the 1973.5 T's the CIS related relay is located on the electrical chassis on the driver's side of the engine compartment. Given it's location (up front in the luggage compartment near the fuse panel) the relay in the posted image appears to be the horn relay. Cheers, Jim

Thnaks -- is t supposed to just hang there? Or is there a holder like in the later cars?

looks like the horn relay or another one of those relays by the fuse panel. it's the standard relay size I belive.

No, see that hole above and behind the relay and relay base? A rubber "dart" molded into the relay base plugs into that hole and holds the base and relay secure. That relay warrants replacing if you care about your horns working. Jim

Thx. Jim. Actually I don't really care about the horn -- engine first, then tires... horn later (since it still works right now).
